Fundraising Ideas!

The list is endless but some inspiration is listed below. If you would like to run an event for Youth Release please contact us at

Run for a cause

You can raise funds for Youth Release through our partners idonate. You can run any race and set up your fundraising page for Youth Release here

Book Sale

You can host this at your home, church, school, or community centre. This will take some time before hand as you will need to have a collection point for books. Ask the local church or school to help you collect books.

Car Wash

If you are a youth group you could have a car wash campaign. Set up a car wash in office car park, church car park or local shopping centres.

Organise a walk for Youth Release or a 5km walk/run. This is a great way to get the local community involved. Get each participant to pledge to raise €100 through sponsorship. You pick the route and date!

Buy and Sell Sale

Charge people €30 to enter, they each need to bring 5 items and can swap for any other 5 items at the sale. Any stock not sold can be sold off to benefit your fundraising cause. Raffles are great at these events.

Church Collection

Ask your church if you can make an appeal to the congregation, explain what you are doing and if they can help. You can also do a church collection at the gate.

Corporate sponsorship

Contact local businesses and ask them to sponsor your cause in exchange for marketing opportunities, such as having the corporate logo proudly displayed on a t-shirt you will wear at a big event, or on our website

Table Quiz

Organise a table quiz at your local bar, charge people €40 a table, or €20 a table at the student bar, get sponsored prizes for teams and have a raffle at the quiz. You can get local businesses involved by getting them to donate raffle prizes.

These are just some basic ideas for fundraising to get you started. There are many more great fundraising ideas out there. If you would like help or more ideas please contact Laura at and don't forget to take lots of pictures! Good Luck!
